Some history…
The original, well loved Halloween classic was released in 1993, starring the infamous Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy. The three play witches that come back after 300 years to get revenge! They are awakened by a young boy called Billy who moves to Salem and lights a cursed candle called “Candle of Black Flame”.
It is a fantasy comedy that has kept us entertained for over 30 years. A much anticipated sequel was released in 2022. Including the original main character, you are transported back to the classic original like time hasn’t really passed.
Salem in a city in Massachusetts, USA. It is renowned from its history in witches and witchcraft. It held trials in 1692, accusing over 200 women of being evil witches. Unfortunately 20 women were found to be innocent after they had been executed. The city holds so much history of witchcraft even the 90’s tv sitcom Sabrina had a black cat named Salem – a sassy, sarcastic, quick witted cat that could talk and was always there for Sabrina whilst she was learning her way to becoming a seasoned witch like her aunts.
