Facial Piercing Aftercare

Thank you for choosing Tribal Voice,

We hope you enjoyed your visit and if you have any questions or queries, please contact us at: [email protected]

Please make sure to follow your After Care Procedure below:

Feeling lazy, worried you’ll make your solution wrong or travel?

We stock a fantastic aftercare spray in store which is great for easy, hassle free cleaning or if you travel it’s perfect to fit in your bag. Neilmed aftercare is a soft fine mist of sterile saline which you can spray directly onto your piercing or use with a cotton bud.

You can also buy it here:

Aftercare Solution

HOW TO MAKE YOUR SALT SOLUTION:

Add ¼ teaspoon of rock or sea salt into ½ pint of boiled water. Make sure all the salt has dissolved and the water has cooled down enough not to burn. Using a clean cotton bud each time, dip your cotton bud into the water to clean around your piercing, front and back.

Bridge, Septum, Sideburn, Anti-Eyebrow, Nose, High Nostril

Clean twice a day using the salt water or NeilMed solution. Keep make-up and products away from piercings.

Nose: Clean as above. For the first 8-10 days wear a plaster at night time to prevent your nose stud from falling out.

Eyebrow: Clean as above. This is one of the fastest migrating piercings so looking after your eyebrow piercing is of high importance.

Healing time (aprox) and Jewellery size (aprox as this can vary)

Nose – 2-3 Months 1mm/1×8/9mm

Eyebrow – 6-8 Weeks, 1.2x12mm

Septum – 6 – 8 weeks, 1.2×9/10mm

Sideburn/Gill – 2 – 3 months, 1.2x12mm staple

Anti Eyebrow – 6 – 12 weeks, 1.2x12mm

Bridge – 1.2×12/14mm straight barbell

These times are a minimum and can take longer depending on many factors (health, aftercare, diet etc)

All our jewellery is Titanium as it is very hypoallergenic (you wont get a reaction from it).

I have lumps! whats going on?!
Lumps can be 1 of 2 things. The most common reason for lumps is irritation. Something may have gotten in the hole, it could be dust, makeup, hair products, ANYTHING. This foreign object will also be irritating it from the inside. So how can you make this horrible monster of a lump go away? You can use a hot compress.

A what I hear you say?!

  1. Grab a clean flannel or kitchen roll (rolled up), a mug and water…. and something to boil the water with.
  2. Boil water.
  3. Put said boiling water into the mug (or a bowl, a bowl works just as well). Let it chill for a bit.
  4. While it’s still hot but not skin meltingly boiling, dip your flannel/tissue/towel into the water and place over your new lumpy enemy and hold for a few minutes.
  5. Do this for as long as you have the lump and you should see it go down or banished forever but you need to keep with it!
  6. You can also use a green tea or camomile tea bag!

If it doesn’t go away there is a chance it may be a keloid but these are actually not as common as people think and tend to come up after a few months. If it is a keloid you can either see a doctor about it or just keep an eye on it. There isn’t a lot to make them go away. But do the hot compress first (and properly). After all miracles don’t tend to happen over-night!
