Did you know? Black cats are considered lucky in the UK. Especially if one crosses your path. And in Japan, they are considered to be good matchmakers. Black cats are more male than female and they have “golden eyes”. This is because they have high levels of melanin.

During the witch hunts black cats were heavily associated with witches. We still do to this day but this started as it was believed they could blend in with the darkness of the night. This would help witches spy on people and their familiar would relay information back to them. Can you imagine a black cat with a camera and a note pad?
