Dermal Info

If you’re thinking of getting a new dermal piercing, here is some things to think about.

What are dermals?

They are a small titanium plate with a stem which gets put under the skin, similar to a button, and leaves the gemmed top exposed on the outside which is all you see. The plate underneath has 2 small holes for the scar tissue to heal through and “anchor it” in place over time.

Where can dermals go?

Technically? Anywhere. BUT, bare in mind some places aren’t very practical. They can get caught easily or potentially not heal.

Please note: we do no put them in hands or backs (back dimples). There are far too many complications in the long run.

How much do they cost?

We charge £40 for one, £70 for 2

How do you take them out?

By returning to us, we can make a small incision near the stem and pop them out. Some are trickier than others but all are removable by a piercer. DO NOT go to a doctor/a&e to remove. We know how dermals work and how to safely and efficiently remove them. We do not cut around them, we leave as minimal damage to your skin as possible.

Didn’t have your dermal done with us but still need it out?

That’s not a problem. We know how dermals work and how to identify the base even if we haven’t put it in for you. Our team of piercers are well trained and experienced to handle most piercing related things that come our way!

How long do they last?

Good question. The answer is it can vary massively and can be very unpredictable. If well looked after they could last years and years.
